You got to be a little bit crazy to waste your time with the hobby of collection bottle-caps. I am just like that - my wife says.
I am Eckhard Lück (CC.I #848), born in Pasewalk, West Pomerania, now living in Potsdam for several years.
When William Painter (1838-1906) from Baltimore invented the "crown cork" in 1892 and had it patented he probably did not imagine what fascination is coming from these little 21-saw-toothed caps among collectors around the world.
Collecting the nice little metal caps takes a lot of time, much accurancy and patience for finding out where they come from and put them into an archive. Collecting also brings you lots of nice contacts to other collectors worldwide and is just fun.
I want to thank all my friends, relatives and collegues from work who surprises me with new caps from time to time and so contribute to the growth of my collection.
My collection (started in 2009) now consists of 31.719 different caps from 195
countries. Every cap as well as my trading-caps can be found here and you are heartly invited to look around.
